Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x64) Failed Installation aborted, Result=2

Instead of running any of the main 'Setup' programs - look within the Folder sets for the following file and run it as a stand alone : '3dsMaxDesign2010_64-bit.msi'
- follow the install prompts but with the satalite option unticked.
Finish install then re-run the main 'Setup' program to install the 'Backburner' module which was prevented from loading in the 1st run when you unticked the satalite option.

I've got a solution for you ;]

http://forum.techit.pl/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=384&p=2176#p2176 - in Polish

My translation:

All you need is

right-click CMD and chose run on Administrator rules

then type below:
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:(path to lp)

for example
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:(F:\lp.cab)

next this one
bcdedit /set {current} locale pl-PL

and:
bcdboot %WinDir% /l pl-PL

next in regedit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlMUIUILanguages
Delete en-US

Reboot system and you have Polish version RTM Pro ;]

I hope this will help. Sorry for my bad language ;p

If you don't want polish on your win 7 you should type your local letters if german it's "de-DE" in place of "pl-PL" ofcourse ;]
